Collaborating closely with Chesterfield Borough Council and Stepnell on the ambitious Staveley 21 regeneration project, we have poured our passion and expertise into developing a design that reflects the unique character and heritage of the area while embracing modern innovation.
With over a decade of partnership with the Council, our appointment to lead the development of both the masterplan and detailed proposals for this landmark structure is a testament to our shared commitment to Staveley’s revitalisation. Following a meticulous planning process, we are excited to announce that our plans for the landmark building have been formally submitted for approval. This significant milestone brings us one step closer to realising our vision for Staveley’s future.
The proposed landmark pavilion building, designed to honour Staveley’s heritage with a modern twist, is poised to become a striking new addition to the town centre landscape. Positioned between the Staveley Miners Welfare building and Staveley High Street, the building is envisioned to host a range of activities, including potential uses such as a Staveley library, retail outlets, leisure facilities, and spaces for budding entrepreneurs.
We have carefully considered every detail of the pavilion’s design. Traditional elements such as arches, red brick, and a pitched roof evoke a sense of timelessness, while modern touches like metal fins and expansive glazing infuse the structure with contemporary flair. Sustainable design principles guide our every decision, ensuring that the pavilion not only enhances the town centre aesthetically but also contributes to its long-term sustainability.
Councillor Kate Sarvent, Chesterfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for town centres and visitor economy, said: “This project aims to transform Staveley town centre – enhancing the area and encouraging more people to visit and support both existing retailers and market traders. Town centres are changing and by trying to expand the offer, creating new opportunities for events and social spaces we aim to boost visitor numbers and provide the space for local businesses to thrive.”
As we await the outcome of the planning process, we are excited to see our shared vision for Staveley’s future come to life.
"Our team have developed the Pavilion building as part of the Staveley centre masterplan with utmost care and consideration. This project presented us with a unique opportunity to influence a scheme close to home, drawing on our intricate knowledge of the local area. The result is a contemporary development that not only honours Staveley's heritage but also serves as a catalyst and hub of activity for future development, aligning with the long-term vision for the area."
