We’re delighted to announce that two of our projects have been shortlisted for the Insider South Yorkshire Property Awards. Kangaroo Works has been shortlisted for the ‘Design Excellence’ award, whilst Sheffield Olympic Park has been shortlisted in the ‘Outstanding Development of the Year’ category.

Located in Sheffield city centre, Kangaroo Works is the purpose-built Build to Rent residential flagship of Sheffield City Council’s ambitious regeneration masterplan, ‘Heart of the City II’. Working with contractor Henry Boot Construction and Ridgeback Group, we have proudly delivered over 360 new homes for the people of Sheffield. Kangaroo Works has been designed to embrace Sheffield’s architectural heritage, drawing inspiration from the city’s traditional courtyard design associated with its industrious past and the ‘little mesters’ works originally found at the site.

Director, Ian Lowson, commented, “We’re thrilled that Kangaroo Works has been shortlisted for a ‘Design Excellence’ award. This recognition highlights the collaborative efforts of Ridgeback, Henry Boot Construction, the design team, and the Local Authority, and their collective passion and dedication to deliver a truly best-in-class Build to Rent offer in the heart of one of Yorkshire’s great cities, Sheffield. A huge congratulations to all involved, and a particular personal thank you to Project Architect Corinne Hall and the team here at Whittam Cox Architects.”

The Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, developed by Scarborough Group International, has been shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding Development of the Year’ award. This landmark project offers a versatile space for sports, recreation, and community events, significantly boosting Sheffield’s reputation as a dynamic and forward-thinking city. Our contributions to this project include developing the masterplan covering 850,000 sq.ft., designing and delivering the new community stadium, and involvement with the National Centre for Child Health Technology (NCCHT).

“We are immensely proud of the recognition for both Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park and Kangaroo Works. These nominations are a testament to the hard work and dedication of all the teams involved. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to everyone who contributed to these landmark projects and wish both teams the best of luck at the awards ceremony.”
