Led by Reef + Partners in partnership with Gloucester City Council, King’s Quarter is transforming a key part of the city centre through the revitalised King’s Square, new homes and The Forum, the centrepiece of the wider regeneration.

The Forum brings together workspace, hospitality, leisure, and public spaces, creating a new destination for Gloucester and a stronger gateway into the city. New routes reconnect the railway and bus stations with King’s Square and the historic centre, bringing people and activity back into this part of the city.

Urban R established the architectural concept for The Forum, with Whittam Cox appointed as Executive Architects to lead its technical development and delivery. Working closely together, our focus was on protecting the strength and character of that original vision while resolving the considerable technical and construction challenges behind bringing it to life.

“From the outset, we understood how important it was that the original vision for The Forum carried all the way through to the finished buildings. We worked closely with Urban R and the wider team to protect that ambition while solving the technical challenges that come with delivering a project of this scale and complexity. Seeing it now full of people and playing such a significant role in Gloucester, and the wider King’s Quarter regeneration being recognised by the AJ is incredibly rewarding.”
