Status Complete

Oxford Point is a 486 bed student living scheme in the heart of Bournemouth. Despite its scale and strong location, the amenity offer lacked identity and street presence in an increasingly competitive market.

Having delivered four successful schemes for Now Student Living, we were appointed to reposition Oxford Point. The brief was clear: increase its commercial appeal, improve the quality of shared spaces, and create an environment where students feel connected, supported, and proud to live.

We reimagined arrival as an experience.

By extending the entrance into a striking double-height space, we strengthened visibility and created a more confident first impression. At roof level, we introduced a new terrace designed as a social heart. Study pods sit alongside games areas and relaxed seating, while a custom off site manufactured bandstand hosts street food, music, and student led events. Every external element was specified for durability in a maritime climate. Inside, we rationalised layouts to accommodate a new gym and enhanced shared facilities. Throughout, we drew inspiration from Bournemouth’s coastline. References to beach huts, promenades, and funfairs inform colour, materials, signage, and bespoke joinery, giving Oxford Point a distinctive seaside character.

"Our goal was to create more than just living spaces; we aimed to craft an experience that resonates with the dynamic lifestyle of modern students. We drew on locality of the site to create a unique identity; we’re really pleased with the outcome and look forward to seeing students embrace these spaces.”

Oxford Point now offers more than accommodation. It offers experience. Stronger identity, improved amenity, and flexible social spaces support wellbeing and community, while elevating the scheme’s market position in a competitive student sector.
