Ready to start your architectural journey?

This is your opportunity to move from university projects to real-world architecture – working on live schemes with experienced professionals who will support your development.

We’re looking for a curious and motivated Part 1 Architectural Assistant and Graduate Architectural Technologists to join our growing team at Whittam Cox – someone at the beginning of their career who wants to learn, gain experience, and build confidence in practice.

What you'll be doing

You’ll support live projects across multiple stages, including:

  • Early concept and feasibility work
  • Planning drawings and presentation material
  • Technical packages and coordination
  • Working alongside architects and technologists on deliverable information
  • Developing your understanding of how projects move from idea to construction.

You’ll gain hands-on experience and see how architecture works in practice.

Who we're looking for

You’ll need:

  • A completed RIBA Part 1 qualification or a degree in Architectural Technology
  • Good design and technical fundamentals
  • AutoCAD (Revit helpful but not essential)

Just as important, you are:

  • Curious and eager to learn
  • Comfortable asking questions
  • Open to feedback and keen to improve
  • Organised and reliable
  • Interested in seeing your work contribute to real buildings

You don’t need to have all the answers – we’re looking for potential and the right attitude.

What you'll get in return

  • Structured mentoring from experienced architects and technologists
  • Exposure to all RIBA stages
  • Meaningful project involvement
  • A supportive and collaborative, down-to-earth studio culture
  • Clear progression pathways

We’re committed to helping early-career professionals build strong foundations for development.
