Ian Lowson

Ian is a RIBA international award-winning architect.

Since joining us in 2012, Ian has been instrumental in acquiring and designing a number of substantial nationwide commissions and expanding our residential offer; with specific attention to urban apartments supervising work on thousands of homes nationally at various stages of development.

Ian heads up our Build to Rent team, and played a pivotal role in securing and designing the £1bn Middlewood Locks Development in Salford, Greater Manchester. This scheme includes one of the largest and most exciting Build to Rent projects in the UK. Because of his expertise in the area, Ian is increasingly asked to relate his extensive knowledge at national conferences.

Ian’s strengths lie, among other aspects of his work, in fully understanding clients’ needs and preferences and maintaining that focus through to completion.

Outside work Ian has a young family, is a film fanatic and – according to himself – a recognised authority on boxing (about which he says: “Never trust an unbeaten record”).

“The only complicated thing we do as architects is keeping things simple.”
