Located within Sheffield United Football Club’s historic Bramall Lane stadium, the project represents a significant redevelopment, reimagining a well-known venue into a modern, high-quality destination for both matchday visitors and year-round guests.
Appointed to lead the full refurbishment, we worked closely with Sheffield United Football Club and hotel operators LEAF Hospitality to deliver a comprehensive transformation. The scheme includes 155 upgraded guest rooms and suites, revitalised public spaces such as restaurants, lounges, bars, and flexible conferencing areas, along with new additions including a ballroom, pre-function bar, and fitness centre.
The design takes inspiration from Sheffield’s identity—referencing both its industrial heritage and its natural surroundings. From subtle nods to steelmaking traditions to an earthy, tactile palette influenced by the nearby Peak District, the interiors reflect the city’s unique character in a contemporary and welcoming way.
The hotel now plays an active role in Sheffield’s hospitality and events offer, supporting the city’s ambitions to attract national and regional audiences while re-establishing Bramall Lane as a vibrant civic and cultural asset.
“We’re thrilled to be shortlisted. It’s been a rewarding project, not least because of its strong connection to our home city. The design response is rooted in Sheffield’s identity, and we’re proud to see it so well received.”
