Status Under Construction

The Forum forms a central part of King’s Quarter, Gloucester’s long-term regeneration programme led by Reef Group in partnership with Gloucester City Council. Positioned between King’s Square and the city’s transport hubs, the site occupies a pivotal location at the heart of the city centre. Previously dominated by a large, inward-looking car park and retail block, the ambition was to transform this disconnected area into an open, legible and future-focused digital quarter.

At the centre of the vision is Cathedral Walk — a new pedestrian route running through the site, reconnecting key parts of the city and framing long views towards Gloucester Cathedral. The Forum is designed not only as a destination in its own right, but as a gateway linking King’s Square, the retail core and new residential neighbourhoods, supporting economic growth and civic life.

Delivering a high performance city quarter

Appointed as Executive Architects post-planning, we led the architectural delivery of the Forum across two interconnected plots, working closely with Reef Group, Urban R and Kier Construction to translate a bold vision into a buildable, future-ready reality.

Our role focused on unlocking flexibility, efficiency and long-term value. We introduced strategic layout changes, including revised core locations and a rationalised structural grid, improving subdivision potential, adaptability and letting performance across the digitally advanced office spaces. We led the detailed design of the architecture and interiors, ensuring the scheme’s high-tech aesthetic was realised without compromising buildability, cost certainty or programme.
