From new build stores to extensions, refurbishments and estate-wide rollouts, Morrisons needed a partner who understood the pressures of live trading environments and evolving customer expectations.

1983

We started working with Morrison’s 40 years ago completing the first new store at Darnall, Sheffield, our first project.

2004

We were one of four architects to assist in the conversion of around 300 Safeway stores. This was the biggest retail conversion ever undertaken in the UK.

2012-2018

Taking forwards the Fresh scheme design we have worked on numerous roll outs; Store of the Future, Fresh Format Refresh and Fresh Look.

2018

Commissioned to undertake maintenance surveys at stores nationwide. We successfully managed to complete the surveys 4 weeks ahead of deadline.

2019-Present

Worked on an extension to Nutmeg HQ in Coalville as well as new stores in Folkestone and Oswestry. Also started works on a variety of new work streams including Car Villages, Timpson Pods Barber Shops, Click and Collect optimising Morrison’s existing estate. 

We’ve delivered hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail space across the UK, tracking multiple brand evolutions along the way. As Lead Architects for the ongoing Fresh Look rollout, we are helping transform the existing estate—refining layouts, enhancing customer journeys and aligning stores with Morrisons’ current brand and range offer.

Our strength lies in understanding the operational heartbeat of each store. We coordinate complex extensions involving land acquisition and estate rationalisation. We work overnight in live trading environments to minimise disruption. We develop efficient models and specifications that balance brand ambition with cost control and programme certainty.

As commercially responsive architects, we align every design decision with business performance, buildability and long-term value.

The result is a modernised, resilient estate that continues to serve communities nationwide. Through consistent delivery, technical rigour and a collaborative one-team approach, we’ve helped Morrisons adapt to shifting retail landscapes while protecting what matters most: customer experience, operational efficiency and commercial return.
