At the heart of the Royal Wharf neighbourhood, Community Dock provides a dedicated space for connection, activity and everyday interaction. Appointed as Executive Architects we also worked on the interior design concept—ensuring the fit-out aligned with the wider environment and brand strategy for the development.
The brief was simple but ambitious: create a bright, welcoming and highly adaptable space capable of serving a wide cross-section of the community. From parent and toddler groups to fitness classes, exhibitions and adult education, the building needed to work hard—often accommodating several user groups at once.
Flexibility shaped our design approach from the outset. We integrated high-volume perimeter storage and specified stackable, foldable furniture to maximise usable floor area. Bold bands of colour flow across floors and walls to define zones without permanent partitions, while a colour-matched stage curtain and folding acoustic wall allow the main hall to subdivide into three independent spaces.
In deliberate contrast to the more restrained branding across Royal Wharf, the interior embraces vibrant colour and playful energy. The result is a purposeful yet joyful setting—one that encourages people to meet, move, learn and share—enhancing everyday urban living through design that puts community first.
