Sheffield City Region based Whittam Cox Architects help raise much needed funds at a charity football tournament for Ashgate Hospicecare.
Sheffield City Region based architects Whittam Cox were last week invited by Derby based construction firm G F Tomlinson to raise funds at a charity football tournament for Ashgate Hospicecare.
The football tournament, organised by G F Tomlinson, saw eight local teams competing in a series of seven-a-side football matches. The event was hosted at Chesterfield FC, and ended with a presentation ceremony, auction and a raffle to raise further funds.
The tournament is part of G F Tomlinson’s pledge to raise funds for Ashgate Hospicecare as its 2017 ‘Charity of the Year’. Monies raised will help the charity provide a community nurse to deliver home care in the local community to patients who are not able to reach a hospice.
Ashley Turner, CEO from Whittam Cox Architects said “We have been supporting Ashgate Hospice for a number of years so were more than happy to get involved; we would like to thank G F Tomlinson for the opportunity to participate in raising money for such a worthy cause.”
Andy Sewards, Managing Director of G F Tomlinson, said: “We are proud to support Ashgate Hospicecare which provides care and support for families, patients and carers across North Derbyshire.
“We’ve had a tremendous amount of generosity from our teams and our local supply chain, who kindly donated raffle prizes. We’d like to thank them for helping to make the fundraising event such a success.
“We will be holding more events throughout the year to raise funds for this charity which provides valuable support to people in the local community. I’m confident that the funds raised will help Ashgate Hospicecare continue its amazing work.”
Andy Hughes, Director and General Manager at G F Tomlinson, said “This event has been a great success and has brought together our clients, partners and supply chain members to raise awareness and money for a great charity in Ashgate Hospice”.
This event was also supported by the Scape Group, Arc Partnership, Perfect Circle – Aecom, Gleeds and Pick Everard, Derry Ltd and Chesterfield College, with Perfect Circle taking the title of tournament winner.
